I’ve done a little stitching since last week, but not as much as I would like. I am continuing with the Prairie Schooler “Evergreen” chart and stitching the motifs as separate ornaments. I’ve made a start on the second ornament, which is a dove of peace. Progress pics below!
I’m stitching all of the ornaments on an 18 count Aida in a rustic oatmeal color. Unfortunately, once again, I am wishing I had chosen a darker fabric because the white thread does not show up very well against the oatmeal background. But, I am sticking with it because I’ve already cut all of the fabric pieces for the ornaments.
The subtle effect of the white against the off-white background does look kind of nice, too. I think it will work out in the end. The photo below shows where I am currently at with this piece.
This ornament has more details that the Santa ornament did, so there is more changing thread colors for all of these little bits, but I expect I will finish it pretty quickly. By next week, I’d like to have this one done and be on to number three!
I can identify with your comment – I did not do as much stitching as I would have liked. That is true all the time
It’s another lovely looking piece! I too know what you mean about not enough stitching this week…
It’s that time of year. So much time spent in the kitchen processing stuff, that stitching gets left in the corner!
